One box. Everything the firm runs on.
The Vibe Appliance is a self-hosted meta-installer for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. One command stands up the accounting apps, the shared database and proxy they run on, and the backup and access plumbing to keep them safe — all on hardware you own. Every app is a Docker Compose overlay, so other open-source tools drop into the same pattern.

Each app is a Docker Compose overlay layered on the core stack. Any other self-hosted open-source tool that speaks Compose drops into the same shared Postgres, Redis, and Caddy plumbing.

2
Postgres 16
One shared cluster. Apps get a database, never their own server.
3
Redis
Shared queue and cache backend for the apps that run background workers.
4
Caddy
Reverse proxy and automatic HTTPS in front of every user-facing app.
5
Cloudflare Tunnel
Optional public ingress without opening a port on the office firewall.
6
Tailscale
Private mesh VPN. Reach the box from anywhere, LAN-only if you prefer.
7
Portainer
Container management UI for the whole stack.
8
Cockpit
Server administration — disks, updates, logs, terminal.
9
Duplicati
Whole-tree scheduled backups for the appliance.

Information-return processing across an API tier, a background worker, and an internal WeasyPrint render sidecar that produces the printed forms. Migrations advisory-lock so the API and worker can start concurrently.

A print gateway other apps call by container DNS. Jobs, printers, templates, and a hash-chained audit log all live in one SQLite file — it is the only app in the appliance that needs neither Postgres nor Redis. Drives TCP 9100, IPP, and Zebra backends.

Every other app’s route to a model. The gateway authenticates app tokens and spends the firm’s AI budget, so it is never exposed through Caddy or the tunnel; a separate session-authenticated staff console handles credentials and the model catalog.
